In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per ton), while Mauritania stood at $X per ton.

In value terms, Senegal ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported frozen cuttlefishes in Western Africa, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mauritania ($X), with an 8.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Cabo Verde, with a 2.2% share.

In Senegal, frozen cuttlefishes imports expanded at an average annual rate of +13.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mauritania (+14.1% per year) and Cabo Verde (-20.5% per year).
