Nigeria dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was near 77% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Senegal (X units), comprising a 9.9% share of total exports. The following exporters - Burkina Faso (X units), Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Liberia (X units) - together made up 6.9% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to fuel or lubricating pump exports from Nigeria stood at +5.0%. At the same time, Liberia (+5.3%) and Senegal (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Liberia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +5.3% from 2012-2021. Burkina Faso experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Cote d'Ivoire (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Nigeria ($X) remains the largest fuel or lubricating pump supplier in Western Africa, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Burkina Faso ($X), with a 7.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 6.3% share.

In Nigeria, fuel or lubricating pump exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Burkina Faso (+3.5% per year) and Senegal (-3.9% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, surging by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Burkina Faso ($X per unit), while Senegal ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines in Western Africa skyrocketed to X units, growing by 62% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 113% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fuel or lubricating pump imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a slight expansion. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines in Western Africa, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Burkina Faso ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 7.6% share.
