From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 396% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Niger (X tons) represented the main exporter of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers, making up 53% of total exports. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Burkina Faso (X tons) and Togo (X tons). All these countries together held near 39% share of total exports. Nigeria (X kg) and Senegal (X kg) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Niger (with a CAGR of +41.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Niger ($X) emerged as the largest furnace burner supplier in Western Africa, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Togo ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Niger amounted to +18.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Togo (+40.2% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+19.5% per year).

The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 117% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Togo ($X per ton), while Cote d'Ivoire ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Western Africa

After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers decreased by -78.5% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 389% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, furnace burner imports reduced notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 265%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

Nigeria prevails in imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 93% of total imports in 2021. Ghana (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers imports, with a CAGR of +32.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Ghana (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Nigeria (+51 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Ghana saw its share reduced by -9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
