In 2021, exports of grape juice (single strength) in Western Africa expanded sharply to X tons, picking up by 10% compared with the year before. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The biggest shipments were from Nigeria (X tons), together finishing at 100% of total export.
Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the grape juice (single strength) exports, with a CAGR of +77.0% from 2012 to 2021. While the share of Nigeria (+97 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) also remains the largest grape juice (single strength) supplier in Western Africa.
In Nigeria, grape juice (single strength) exports increased at an average annual rate of +48.8% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -27.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 320%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Nigeria.

Imports in Western Africa
In 2021, imports of grape juice (single strength) in Western Africa soared to X tons, with an increase of 95% on the year before. In general, imports posted temperate growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, grape juice (single strength) imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a tangible expansion. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Nigeria was the largest importer of grape juice (single strength) in Western Africa, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was approx. 41% of total imports in 2021. Burkina Faso (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by Mali (17%) and Ghana (9.5%). The following importers - Sierra Leone (X tons), Togo (X tons) and Liberia (X tons) - each amounted to an 8.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to grape juice (single strength) imports into Nigeria stood at -2.1%. At the same time, Mali (+54.1%), Burkina Faso (+44.5%), Togo (+26.1%), Ghana (+23.8%), Liberia (+14.2%) and Sierra Leone (+8.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mali emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +54.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Togo increased by +17, +16, +7.4 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported grape juice (single strength) in Western Africa, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Burkina Faso ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Mali, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Nigeria stood at -1.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Burkina Faso (+46.2% per year) and Mali (+54.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per ton), while Mali ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Liberia (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
