In Nigeria, hat and headgear exports expanded at an average annual rate of +31.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+6.4% per year) and Mauritania (+4.5% per year).

The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -49.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 48%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
