Keyboards Market Size in Western Africa

The West African keyboards market rose modestly to $X in 2022, surging by 4.1% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. Imports in Western Africa

In 2022, approx. X units of keyboards were imported in Western Africa; which is down by -56.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

At the same time, Togo (+26.4%), Guinea (+21.4%), Cote d'Ivoire (+18.9%) and Senegal (+8.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Togo emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +26.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Ghana (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Senegal, Guinea, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Togo increased by +8.6, +2.8, +2.4, +1.8 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X), Ghana ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 76% of total imports.

Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +13.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Import price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, keyboards import price decreased by -18.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by 54%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
