In Cote d'Ivoire, marine GPS navigator exports increased at an average annual rate of +105.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ghana (+0.2% per year) and Nigeria (-30.7% per year).

Overall, imports showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 61%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, marine GPS navigator imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Cote d'Ivoire was the key importing country with an import of around X units, which reached 42% of total imports. Ghana (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 19% share, followed by Nigeria (16%) and Liberia (11%). The following importers - Togo (X units), Senegal (X units) and Mauritania (X units) - together made up 7.7% of total imports.
Imports into Cote d'Ivoire increased at an average annual rate of +24.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Liberia (+112.5%), Togo (+28.1%) and Senegal (+21.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Liberia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +112.5% from 2012-2021. Mauritania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ghana (-4.5%) and Nigeria (-26.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Ghana, Togo and Senegal increased by +40, +11, +9.3, +3 and +2.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X), Senegal ($X) and Ghana ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 65% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Liberia, Nigeria, Togo and Mauritania, which together accounted for a further 29%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Liberia, with a CAGR of +80.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 90% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per unit), while Nigeria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
