The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The biggest shipments were from Nigeria (X tons), Burkina Faso (X tons), Sierra Leone (X tons), Ghana (X tons), Senegal (X tons) and Liberia (X tons), together amounting to X% of total export. It was distantly followed by Mali (X tons), constituting a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Mali (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Senegal ($X), Sierra Leone ($X) and Liberia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined X% share of total exports. Nigeria, Mali, Ghana and Burkina Faso lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
Among the main exporting countries, Mali, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per ton), while Burkina Faso ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, metal domestic furniture imports fell modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Ghana represented the major importer of metal furniture in Western Africa, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Senegal (X tons), Guinea (X tons) and Nigeria (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports. Liberia (X tons) and Togo (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Ghana increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Nigeria (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%), Togo (X%), Senegal (X%) and Liberia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Nigeria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Guinea (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Cote d'Ivoire (X p.p.) and Nigeria (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Guinea (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Ghana ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported metal furniture in Western Africa, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Guinea, with a X% share.
