In value terms, Ghana ($X) remains the largest mixes and doughs supplier in Western Africa, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Niger ($X), with a 13% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Ghana stood at +48.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Niger (+61.7% per year) and Senegal (-2.9% per year).

The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -2.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. After three years of growth, purchases abroad of mixes and doughs decreased by -31.7% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a notable expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 132% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mixes and doughs imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 116%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Among the main importing countries, Mali, with a CAGR of +51.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Burkina Faso ($X per ton), while Niger ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
