Exports by Country
Nigeria represented the main exporter of moulds for mineral materials in Western Africa, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was approx. 51% of total exports in 2022. Ghana (X units) held a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Togo (13%) and Sierra Leone (8.3%). Cote d'Ivoire (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

At the same time, Sierra Leone (+7.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Ghana (+20 p.p.), Togo (+11 p.p.) and Sierra Leone (+7.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Cote d'Ivoire saw its share reduced by -28.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) remains the largest mould for mineral materials supplier in Western Africa, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Sierra Leone, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Nigeria totaled -17.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ghana (+5.3% per year) and Sierra Leone (+9.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 127% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild setback. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sierra Leone ($X per unit), while Togo ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+6.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Western Africa
After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of moulds for mineral materials decreased by -14.3% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 462%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, mould for mineral materials imports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 104%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Nigeria was the major importer of moulds for mineral materials in Western Africa, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 41% of total imports in 2022. Cote d'Ivoire (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 22% share, followed by Ghana (21%) and Guinea (8.2%). Mali (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +68.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported moulds for mineral materials in Western Africa, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 19% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Nigeria amounted to +4.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+23.4% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+63.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 99% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per unit), while Guinea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+1.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
