Oat Market Size in Western Africa

The West African oat market expanded remarkably to $X in 2022, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption saw buoyant growth. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Oat Production in Western Africa

In value terms, oat exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Nigeria (X tons) represented roughly 100% of total exports in 2022.

Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the oats exports, with a CAGR of -11.0% from 2012 to 2022. Nigeria (+9.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
