Imports into Nigeria increased at an average annual rate of +12.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Guinea (+49.8%), Cote d'Ivoire (+37.4%) and Ghana (+35.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +49.8% from 2012-2022. Cote d'Ivoire (+4.2 p.p.), Ghana (+3.2 p.p.) and Guinea (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Nigeria saw its share reduced by -8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported optical fibers and bundles in Western Africa, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 7.9% share.
In Nigeria, optical fiber and bundle imports plunged by an average annual rate of -3.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+21.5% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+22.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
