From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mali totaled -29.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Nigeria (+10.4% per year) and Senegal (+412.1% per year).

In terms of the main importing countries, Niger, with a CAGR of +6.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -66.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 603% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then declined significantly in the following year.
