In 2022, Togo (X tons) represented the largest exporter of plastic self-adhesive plates, sheets and other flat shapes, comprising 40% of total exports. Nigeria (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Senegal (X tons), Cabo Verde (X tons), Ghana (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons). All these countries together held near 57% share of total exports. Guinea (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to plastic self-adhesive plate exports from Togo stood at +14.5%. At the same time, Guinea (+29.3%), Senegal (+9.1%), Nigeria (+7.1%) and Ghana (+4.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Togo ($X) emerged as the largest plastic self-adhesive plate supplier in Western Africa, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Senegal ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Cabo Verde, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Togo totaled +11.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Senegal (+5.3% per year) and Cabo Verde (+1.1% per year).

The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -7.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 39% against the previous year. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
