In value terms, Senegal ($X) emerged as the largest playing cards supplier in Western Africa, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Nigeria ($X), with a 22% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Senegal amounted to +39.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Nigeria (+6.2% per year) and Mali (+71.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +56.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Ghana ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Mauritania ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 79% of total imports. Cote d'Ivoire, Togo and Mali lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.4%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +40.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -26.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 136% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
