Nigeria (X tons) represented roughly 100% of total exports in 2022.
Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the porcelain ceramic wares for laboratory, technical, and chemical use exports, with a CAGR of +43.7% from 2012 to 2022. While the share of Nigeria (+81 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of porcelain ceramic wares for laboratory, technical, and chemical use decreased by -31.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports faced a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 374% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, porcelain technical ware imports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 349%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Nigeria prevails in imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 87% of total imports in 2022. Gambia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Ghana (X tons). All these countries together held near 11% share of total imports.
Imports into Nigeria decreased at an average annual rate of -15.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Gambia (+50.4%) and Ghana (+26.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Gambia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +50.4% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Gambia and Ghana increased by +6.6 and +4.7 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported porcelain ceramic wares for laboratory, technical, and chemical use in Western Africa, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 3.4% share of total imports.
In Nigeria, porcelain technical ware imports shrank by an average annual rate of -4.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+19.7% per year) and Gambia (+40.1% per year).
