In value terms, radio receiver exports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Cote d'Ivoire (X units), distantly followed by Nigeria (X units), Ghana (X units), Togo (X units) and Senegal (X units) were the largest exporters of radio receivers, together committing 92% of total exports. The following exporters - Mauritania (X units) and Burkina Faso (X units) - each accounted for a 3.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +34.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X), Ghana ($X) and Nigeria ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 72% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +34.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, rising by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 26% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mauritania ($X per unit), while Togo ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mauritania (+3.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Western Africa
In 2022, overseas purchases of radio receivers increased by 6.4% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after three years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, radio receiver imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a tangible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 122%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ghana was the major importer of radio receivers in Western Africa, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 49% of total imports in 2022. Senegal (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 16% share, followed by Burkina Faso (8%), Nigeria (6.7%), Guinea (6.2%) and Liberia (5.4%). Cote d'Ivoire (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Ghana increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Burkina Faso (+34.8%), Senegal (+29.4%), Guinea (+8.7%) and Cote d'Ivoire (+7.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Burkina Faso emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +34.8% from 2012-2022. Liberia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Nigeria (-16.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Cote d'Ivoire increased by +20, +15, +7.5, +2.9 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Ghana ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radio receivers in Western Africa, comprising 43% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Senegal ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Guinea, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Ghana amounted to +18.0%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Senegal (+17.1% per year) and Guinea (+12.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -16.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Guinea ($X per unit), while Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
