Overall, imports recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 65%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, textile rubber hose imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 77%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Ghana (X tons) was the main importer of rubber hose reinforced with textiles, mixing up 46% of total imports. Nigeria (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Guinea (X tons), Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), Senegal (X tons), Burkina Faso (X tons) and Mali (X tons).
