From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, self-propelled non-electric fork-lift truck exports shrank markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted tangible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The shipments of the five major exporters of self-propelled fork-lift trucks with non-electric motor, namely Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Ghana and Niger, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Cabo Verde (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Nigeria (X units), Togo (X units) and Burkina Faso (X units). All these countries together took approx. 20% share of total exports. Benin (X units) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Niger (with a CAGR of +14.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) remains the largest self-propelled non-electric fork-lift truck supplier in Western Africa, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Niger ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Cote d'Ivoire stood at +11.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Niger (+8.9% per year) and Senegal (+38.4% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, surging by 6.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 30%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit), while Cabo Verde ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Senegal (+33.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of self-propelled fork-lift trucks with non-electric motor, when their volume decreased by -16.3% to X units. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +94.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 34%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
In value terms, self-propelled non-electric fork-lift truck imports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Imports by Country
Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Ghana (X units) and Nigeria (X units) represented roughly 72% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Guinea (X units), comprising a 4.6% share of total imports. Burkina Faso (X units), Senegal (X units), Benin (X units) and Mali (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Mali (with a CAGR of +16.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest self-propelled non-electric fork-lift truck importing markets in Western Africa were Nigeria ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Ghana ($X), with a combined 69% share of total imports. Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Senegal and Benin lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.
Mali, with a CAGR of +24.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, growing by 7.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mali ($X per unit), while Ghana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
