Soya Sauce Market Size in Western Africa

In value terms, soya sauce exports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. Nigeria (X tons) represented roughly 98% of total exports in 2022.

Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the soya sauce exports, with a CAGR of +50.7% from 2012 to 2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Nigeria increased by +36 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

In value terms, soya sauce imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. In 2022, Senegal (X tons) was the key importer of soya sauce, creating 47% of total imports. Ghana (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 29% share, followed by Nigeria (20%).
