The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the export price increased by 238% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mali ($X per unit), while Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, aircraft internal combustion engine imports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 138% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Nigeria represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 56% of total imports. Ghana (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 25% share, followed by Mali (4.9%). The following importers - Senegal (X units), Burkina Faso (X units), Cabo Verde (X units), Mauritania (X units) and Cote d'Ivoire (X units) - together made up 13% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to aircraft internal combustion engine imports into Nigeria stood at +6.8%. At the same time, Mali (+30.2%), Mauritania (+19.6%), Burkina Faso (+7.2%), Ghana (+5.4%) and Senegal (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mali emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +30.2% from 2012-2022. Cote d'Ivoire experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
