Ghana was also the fastest-growing in terms of the turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn imports, with a CAGR of +28.2% from 2012 to 2021. Cote d'Ivoire experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Mali (-7.4%), Burkina Faso (-18.1%) and Nigeria (-19.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Ghana (+76 p.p.), Mali (+2.7 p.p.) and Cote d'Ivoire (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Nigeria (-7.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Burkina Faso ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn in Western Africa, comprising 84% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 6.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Mali, with a 4.7% share.
In Burkina Faso, turbo-jet (over X kn) imports increased at an average annual rate of +25.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ghana (+47.7% per year) and Mali (+21.3% per year).
