In value terms, wooden window imports declined significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Senegal (X tons) represented the main importer of windows, french windows and their frames of wood, comprising 38% of total imports. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Mauritania (X tons), Mali (X tons) and Ghana (X tons). All these countries together took near 46% share of total imports. The following importers - Guinea (X tons) and Gambia (X tons) - each reached a 5.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wooden window imports into Senegal stood at +6.2%. At the same time, Mali (+17.6%), Cote d'Ivoire (+9.0%) and Gambia (+8.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mali emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +17.6% from 2012-2021. Mauritania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ghana (-17.1%) and Guinea (-17.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Senegal (+25 p.p.), Cote d'Ivoire (+11 p.p.), Mali (+7.7 p.p.), Mauritania (+6.4 p.p.) and Gambia (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Guinea (-6.8 p.p.) and Ghana (-17.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the largest wooden window importing markets in Western Africa were Senegal ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Ghana ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +19.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -30.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 41% against the previous year.
