Exports from Mauritania increased at an average annual rate of +24.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Niger (+46.5%), Cote d'Ivoire (+18.3%), Mali (+15.5%), Guinea (+12.2%) and Ghana (+11.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Niger emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of +46.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Nigeria (-11.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mauritania (+49 p.p.), Niger (+9.7 p.p.), Ghana (+4.8 p.p.), Mali (+2.3 p.p.), Guinea (+1.6 p.p.) and Cote d'Ivoire (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Nigeria (-39.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mauritania ($X) remains the largest wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships supplier in Western Africa, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Niger ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Nigeria, with a 9.4% share.
In Mauritania, exports of wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Niger (+44.4% per year) and Nigeria (-1.1% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships imports into Nigeria stood at +4.3%. At the same time, Togo (+67.3%), Mauritania (+18.7%) and Ghana (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, the largest wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships importing markets in Western Africa were Nigeria ($X), Ghana ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a combined 61% share of total imports. Togo, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Mauritania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.
Among the main importing countries, Togo, with a CAGR of +49.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 52%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per ton), while Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
