Exports by Country
In 2022, Niger (X units) represented the largest exporter of x-ray apparatus, generating 52% of total exports. Nigeria (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Senegal (X units) and Mali (X units). All these countries together took approx. 40% share of total exports. The following exporters - Ghana (X units) and Togo (X units) - each amounted to an 8% share of total exports.
Niger was also the fastest-growing in terms of the x-ray apparatus exports, with a CAGR of +33.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Senegal (+14.9%) and Nigeria (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Ghana and Mali experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Togo (-24.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Niger ($X) emerged as the largest x-ray apparatus supplier in Western Africa, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Senegal ($X), with a 7.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Mali, with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Niger amounted to +74.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (+24.9% per year) and Mali (+42.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 294% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, Nigeria (X units) represented the key importer of x-ray apparatus, comprising 29% of total imports. Ghana (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Senegal (X units), Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Niger (X units), Togo (X units) and Cabo Verde (X units). All these countries together held approx. 54% share of total imports. Mauritania (X units) took a little share of total imports.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported x-ray apparatus in Western Africa, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 7.7% share.
In Nigeria, x-ray apparatus imports increased at an average annual rate of +26.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+11.1% per year) and Senegal (+21.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
