Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +3.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United States (-2.0%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.1%), Spain (-2.2%), Italy (-3.0%), Germany (-3.7%), China (-6.1%) and Singapore (-7.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+12 p.p.) and Thailand (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of China (-5.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest acid and mordant dye supplier worldwide, comprising 30% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 7.3% share.

In India, acid and mordant dye exports expanded at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: China (-0.2% per year) and Germany (-2.3% per year).

Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Spain, Taiwan (Chinese), Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +7.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
