In value terms, China ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 38% share of global exports. These countries were followed by Greece, Spain, France, India, Indonesia, Belgium, Italy, Turkey and Mozambique, which together accounted for a further 42%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Turkey, with a CAGR of +20.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average activated natural mineral products export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 8%. Malaysia, with a CAGR of +23.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average activated natural mineral products import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 4.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
