At the same time, the Netherlands (+14.9%), Belgium (+6.6%) and Germany (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +14.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Canada (-5.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of the United States (-1.7 p.p.) and Canada (-2.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the largest brewing dregs supplier worldwide, comprising 84% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 3.6% share of global exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 1.5% share.
In the United States, brewing dregs exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+18.6% per year) and Belgium (+6.1% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +26.8%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Korea ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Indonesia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 28% share of global imports. Canada, Turkey, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, the UK, New Zealand, Spain, Israel and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.
