Israel (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) represented roughly 42% of total exports in 2021. The Netherlands (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by the United States (X tons) and India (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 27% share of total exports. China (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Germany (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of +43.3%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Israel ($X), Jordan ($X) and the United States ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 35% of global exports. These countries were followed by India, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, China, Singapore, Russia and Lao People's Democratic Republic, which together accounted for a further 37%.

Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a CAGR of +34.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 17%. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Free Zones ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides worldwide, comprising 26% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 13% share of global imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 10% share.

In Free Zones, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports expanded at an average annual rate of +35.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+11.0% per year) and the United States (-0.3% per year).
