For the third year in a row, the global civil reaction engine market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 22% to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, consumption recorded a sharp contraction. Global consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, civil reaction engine production skyrocketed to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 43%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2015 to 2021, global production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, shipments abroad of civil reaction engines was finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. Overall, exports enjoyed a modest expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, civil reaction engine exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Russia prevails in exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 70% of total exports in 2021. The UK (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 6.8% share, followed by Singapore (6.2%) and Poland (6%). Italy (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Singapore (+70.4%), Poland (+58.9%) and Italy (+8.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Singapore emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +70.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the UK (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+45 p.p.), Singapore (+6.1 p.p.) and Poland (+5.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of the UK (-4.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) emerged as the largest civil reaction engine supplier worldwide, comprising 56% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 2.7% share of global exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 1.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (-14.8% per year) and Italy (-2.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average civil reaction engine export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -42.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 74% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, global civil reaction engine imports totaled X units, picking up by 7.5% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a precipitous descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 114% against the previous year. Global imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, civil reaction engine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported civil reaction engines worldwide, comprising 59% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 7% share of global imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 5.5% share.

In the United States, civil reaction engine imports expanded at an average annual rate of +11.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+28.3% per year) and Colombia (-9.1% per year).
