Exports by Country

China was the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for 42% of total exports. The Netherlands (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Hong Kong SAR (X tons). All these countries together took near 17% share of total exports. Thailand (X tons), Germany (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), the United States (X tons), Japan (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from China decreased at an average annual rate of -1.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Mexico (+18.9%), Thailand (+7.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.2%), the Netherlands (+3.5%) and Vietnam (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +18.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the Czech Republic (-2.8%), Germany (-3.2%), Japan (-4.6%), Hong Kong SAR (-5.3%), Singapore (-5.8%), the United States (-7.1%) and Malaysia (-9.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+4.8 p.p.), the Netherlands (+4.2 p.p.), Mexico (+3.2 p.p.) and Thailand (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the United States, Hong Kong SAR and Malaysia saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -2.2% and -2.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest computing machinery supplier worldwide, comprising 36% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 9.9% share of global exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 7.6% share.

In China, computing machinery exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Hong Kong SAR (+3.5% per year) and the Netherlands (+4.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average computing machinery export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 7.2% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.7%.
