It was distantly followed by Germany (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Greece (X tons), Italy (X tons), Thailand (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons), together creating a 49% share of total exports. The United States (X tons), Austria (X tons), Canada (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to copper tube and pipe exports from China stood at +4.0%. At the same time, Vietnam (+26.1%), Turkey (+19.3%), Thailand (+8.3%), Italy (+4.7%) and Greece (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +26.1% from 2012-2021. Austria, Malaysia, the United States and Canada experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, South Korea (-1.8%), Germany (-3.1%) and Mexico (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (+7.3 p.p.), China (+3.6 p.p.) and Thailand (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while South Korea and Germany saw its share reduced by -2.2% and -5.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest copper tube and pipe supplier worldwide, comprising 24% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 9.7% share of global exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 8.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China stood at +4.9%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-2.0% per year) and Vietnam (+27.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average copper tube and pipe export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 33% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a modest increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
