The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the global exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) represented the major exporters of cumene in 2021, finishing at near 40% and 28% of total exports, respectively. Japan (X tons) held an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United States (7.3%). South Korea (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +25.2%), while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Singapore ($X) and Japan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 86% of global exports. The United States and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.2%.
South Korea, with a CAGR of +21.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The average cumene export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 59% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Singapore ($X per ton) and South Korea ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Japan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (-3.0%), while the other global leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, purchases abroad of cumene increased by 24% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of global imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cumene imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Global imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Belgium (X tons) and China (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together creating 79% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), creating a 7.2% share of total imports. Italy (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the United States (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +352.3%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest cumene importing markets worldwide were Belgium ($X), China ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together comprising 88% of global imports. These countries were followed by Italy, Brazil, the United States and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 8.6%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Brazil, with a CAGR of +268.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average cumene import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 56% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. Global import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (-1.9%), while the other global leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
