The global cumene market surged to $X in 2021, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. Over the period under review, the global market reached the peak level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cumene production expanded remarkably to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a perceptible downturn. The average cumene export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 59% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Singapore ($X per ton) and South Korea ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Japan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of global imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cumene imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Global imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Belgium (X tons) and China (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together creating 79% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), creating a 7.2% share of total imports. In value terms, the largest cumene importing markets worldwide were Belgium ($X), China ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together comprising 88% of global imports. These countries were followed by Italy, Brazil, the United States and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 8.6%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Brazil, with a CAGR of +268.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cumene import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 56% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. Global import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
