As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the global exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, denatured ethyl alcohol exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +80.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 33%. The global exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The United States dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 59% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), mixing up a 4.6% share of total exports. South Africa (X tons), France (X tons), Canada (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Russia (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Pakistan (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to denatured ethyl alcohol exports from the United States stood at +1.4%. At the same time, Canada (+37.9%), Poland (+31.9%), Spain (+29.5%), Hungary (+15.4%), South Africa (+12.9%) and Russia (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Canada emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +37.9% from 2012-2021. Belgium and the Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-2.1%), Germany (-4.6%) and Pakistan (-7.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Canada (+3.3 p.p.), South Africa (+2.7 p.p.), Spain (+2.4 p.p.), Poland (+2.3 p.p.) and Hungary (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while France and Pakistan saw its share reduced by -1.5% and -2.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the largest denatured ethyl alcohol supplier worldwide, comprising 70% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 3.7% share of global exports. It was followed by France, with a 3.5% share.

In the United States, denatured ethyl alcohol exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+0.2% per year) and France (-1.9% per year).

In 2021, Canada (X tons), distantly followed by India (X tons), South Korea (X tons), China (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons) were the key importers of denatured ethyl alcohol and other denatured spirits, together mixing up 58% of total imports. The following importers - the Netherlands (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Peru (X tons), Germany (X tons), the UK (X tons), Nigeria (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) - together made up 25% of total imports.
