Thailand (+4.4 p.p.), Belgium (+3 p.p.), Vietnam (+1.9 p.p.) and Turkey (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while France, the United States and the Netherlands saw its share reduced by -4.1%, -4.4% and -4.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest modified starches supplying countries worldwide were Thailand ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and the United States ($X), together accounting for 47% of global exports. Germany, France, China, Belgium, Italy, Vietnam, Sweden, Brazil, India and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.
Among the main exporting countries, Belgium, with a CAGR of +29.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average modified starches export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 16% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
