China was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 59% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), committing a 14% share of total exports. Indonesia (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), the United States (X tons), Germany (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to disperse dye exports from China stood at -1.2%. At the same time, Turkey (+18.3%), India (+15.2%), the United States (+8.4%), South Korea (+7.9%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.5%) and Singapore (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +18.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Indonesia (-1.4%) and Germany (-9.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+9.9 p.p.) and South Korea (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-2.5 p.p.) and China (-8.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest disperse dye supplier worldwide, comprising 47% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to +3.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+18.5% per year) and Indonesia (+4.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average disperse dye export price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -2.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 29%. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Global imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, disperse dye imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of disperse dye imports in 2021 were Indonesia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and South Korea (X tons), together reaching 39% of total import. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), generating a 4.9% share of total imports. The following importers - Mexico (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons), Honduras (X tons), Pakistan (X tons), Brazil (X tons), China (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Germany (X tons) - together made up 25% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Honduras (with a CAGR of +14.1%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest disperse dye importing markets worldwide were Indonesia ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Vietnam ($X), with a combined 27% share of global imports. Turkey, South Korea, Germany, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, Honduras, Pakistan, Brazil and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

Honduras, with a CAGR of +16.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average disperse dye import price amounted to $X per ton, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, disperse dye import price decreased by -7.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 21% against the previous year. Global import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
