By contrast, Germany (-1.3%), the United States (-2.7%), Switzerland (-5.6%), Saudi Arabia (-10.1%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-15.7%) and China (-24.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United States (+14 p.p.), Russia (+7.9 p.p.), Germany (+3.1 p.p.), Estonia (+3 p.p.), Switzerland (+2.7 p.p.) and India (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while China and Japan saw its share reduced by -8.3% and -20% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the largest drawn glass and blown glass supplier worldwide, comprising 58% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 14% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 5.2% share.
