The Czech Republic (X tons), Denmark (X tons), Austria (X tons), Poland (X tons) and China (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Serbia (with a CAGR of +73.3%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys supplying countries worldwide were Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and the UK ($X), together comprising 52% of global exports. These countries were followed by Ireland, Serbia, Croatia, Austria, Denmark, China, the Czech Republic and Poland, which together accounted for a further 30%.
Serbia, with a CAGR of +68.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 5.2%. In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys, when their volume increased by 15% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys imports stood at $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight descent. Global imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the twelve major importers of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys, namely Italy, France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Norway, the Netherlands, Austria, Greece, the United States and Australia, represented more than half of total import. Denmark (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Australia (with a CAGR of +10.8%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys importing markets worldwide were Italy ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 30% of global imports. These countries were followed by the United States, the UK, Norway, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Australia, Greece and Denmark, which together accounted for a further 33%.
