From 2012 to 2022, the share of Vietnam, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong SAR and Hungary increased by +3.3, +3, +2.9, +2.7 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest LCDs and plasmas supplier worldwide, comprising 45% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with a 7.2% share of global exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 5.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at +2.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+5.3% per year) and Thailand (+7.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average LCDs and plasmas export price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 9.7%. Mexico (X units) took a 9.9% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (6%). Japan (X units), Singapore (X units), Malaysia (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units), Turkey (X units), Vietnam (X units), Spain (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and Germany (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +58.1%), while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported flat panel video monitor, lcd or plasma worldwide, comprising 20% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 6.5% share of global imports. It was followed by Russia, with a 6.5% share.
In the United States, LCDs and plasmas imports decreased by an average annual rate of -4.3% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+55.5% per year) and Russia (+6.1% per year).
