As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate tangible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 99%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

Exports by Country

China represented the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which finished at 43% of total exports. The United States (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Bangladesh (X units), Vietnam (X units) and Cambodia (X units). All these countries together held approx. 22% share of total exports. Spain (X units), Thailand (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Germany (X units), Turkey (X units), France (X units), Belgium (X units) and Italy (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-woven, felt and coated textile garment exports from China stood at +2.9%. At the same time, Turkey (+48.9%), Bangladesh (+27.6%), Cambodia (+19.2%), Spain (+17.2%), the United States (+15.0%), the Netherlands (+14.6%), Vietnam (+11.1%), Germany (+9.4%), Thailand (+9.3%), France (+8.0%) and Belgium (+6.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +48.9% from 2012-2021. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Bangladesh (+4.6 p.p.), the United States (+3 p.p.), Cambodia (+3 p.p.), Spain (+2.3 p.p.), Turkey (+2 p.p.) and Vietnam (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while China saw its share reduced by -13.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment supplier worldwide, comprising 36% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 7.7% share of global exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 5.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Vietnam (+5.3% per year) and Italy (-4.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average export price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments amounted to $X per unit, falling by -12.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 3.5% against the previous year. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the United States ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Global imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments declined markedly to X units in 2021, which is down by -37.7% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 189%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments fell notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 133%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, the United States (X units) was the main importer of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments, constituting 39% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Germany (X units) and France (X units), together mixing up an 11% share of total imports. The following importers - Spain (X units), the UK (X units), Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Belgium (X units), Japan (X units), Canada (X units), Poland (X units) and Denmark (X units) - together made up 25% of total imports.

Imports into the United States increased at an average annual rate of +12.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Poland (+24.0%), Spain (+13.4%), Italy (+13.2%), Denmark (+12.1%), Canada (+11.6%), Belgium (+10.6%), the Netherlands (+8.1%), Germany (+7.6%), France (+6.6%), the UK (+4.4%) and Japan (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +24.0% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the United States increased by +10 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-woven, felt and coated textile garments worldwide, comprising 21% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 9.1% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 6.5% share.

In the United States, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+5.1% per year) and France (+5.4% per year).
