The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 8.8% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at X tons in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, animal guts exports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 23%. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The shipments of the twelve major exporters of guts, bladders and stomachs of animals, namely the United States, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, China, Spain, Australia, Poland, Argentina, the UK and Denmark, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Canada (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Australia (with a CAGR of +14.4%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest animal guts supplying countries worldwide were China ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising 40% of global exports. New Zealand, the Netherlands, Brazil, Spain, Australia, Poland, Denmark, Canada, the UK and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
Among the main exporting countries, Canada, with a CAGR of +7.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average animal guts export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 8.3%. Global imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, animal guts imports stood at $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons), distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main importers of guts, bladders and stomachs of animals, together mixing up 47% of total imports. The following importers - Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), Japan (X tons), South Africa (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Italy (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) - together made up 24% of total imports.
Imports into China increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Spain (+7.6%), Morocco (+5.0%), South Africa (+3.3%), Japan (+2.6%), Germany (+2.4%), Portugal (+2.4%) and Mexico (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Spain emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +7.6% from 2012-2022. Poland, France, South Korea and the Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Italy (-1.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+4.1 p.p.) and Spain (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the Netherlands saw its share reduced by -1.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 37% of global imports.
Among the main importing countries, China, with a CAGR of +13.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average animal guts import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 6.6% against the previous year.
