South Korea, the United States, China, Italy, Belgium, Hong Kong SAR, the UK, Singapore, the Czech Republic and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +24.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average horizontal machining centre export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 80% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2015 to 2021, the growth of global imports failed to regain momentum.

At the same time, the Netherlands (+12.9%), Turkey (+11.3%), Italy (+8.7%), India (+8.0%), Singapore (+5.7%) and Belgium (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +12.9% from 2012-2021. Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United States (-4.0%), the UK (-5.3%), Canada (-6.4%), Germany (-7.8%) and Hong Kong SAR (-9.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+4.5 p.p.), Turkey (+4 p.p.), India (+2.7 p.p.), Italy (+2.1 p.p.) and Singapore (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-1.6 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (-2.3 p.p.) and China (-16.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported horizontal machining centres for working metal worldwide, comprising 31% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 13% share of global imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at -8.0%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-3.8% per year) and Turkey (+7.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country
