Among the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +17.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average machine-tool for working wood export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 3.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

At the same time, Nigeria (+45.0%), Belgium (+15.4%), the United States (+8.7%), Canada (+7.3%), Austria (+6.6%), Germany (+6.1%), Italy (+4.9%), France (+4.8%) and the UK (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Nigeria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +45.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Russia (-2.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+18 p.p.) and Nigeria (+4.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -4.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machine-tools for working wood worldwide, comprising 18% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 6.5% share of global imports. It was followed by Russia, with a 5.4% share.
