The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) represented the key exporter of manganites, manganates and permanganates, molybdates and tungstates, creating 36% of total exports. India (X tons) took a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Lao People's Democratic Republic (11%), the United States (10%), Belgium (7%) and the Netherlands (5.9%). Vietnam (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of manganites, manganates and permanganates, molybdates and tungstates. At the same time, India (+17.9%), Vietnam (+17.7%), Belgium (+8.0%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (+4.8%) and the Netherlands (+3.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest manganites, manganates, molybdates and tungstates supplier worldwide, comprising 29% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 9.7% share.

In China, manganites, manganates, molybdates and tungstates exports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The average import price for manganites, manganates and permanganates, molybdates and tungstates stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 22%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
