At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+44.7%), North Macedonia (+12.8%) and Egypt (+12.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +44.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Iran (-1.1%), Portugal (-1.5%), Italy (-5.9%), India (-6.6%), Pakistan (-8.7%) and Spain (-11.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates increased by +9.4 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest marble and travertine blocks supplier worldwide, comprising 47% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with an 8.4% share of global exports. It was followed by Iran, with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Egypt (+0.5% per year) and Iran (+2.3% per year).
