The following exporters - Belarus (X tons), Guatemala (X tons), El Salvador (X tons), Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Egypt (X tons) and Nicaragua (X tons) - together made up 26% of total exports.

Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +15.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (+24.5%), Nicaragua (+7.7%), Indonesia (+6.8%), Guatemala (+5.1%), Poland (+4.9%) and El Salvador (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +24.5% from 2012-2022. Australia and Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Netherlands (-1.1%), Egypt (-2.1%), Germany (-3.7%) and Thailand (-16.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of India, Indonesia and Belarus increased by +17, +4.4 and +3.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Russia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 40% share of global exports. Australia, Guatemala, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belarus, El Salvador, Egypt, Thailand and Nicaragua lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +29.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average molasse export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 28% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The average molasse import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
