China represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which recorded 50% of total exports. Brazil (X units) held a 9.9% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United States (9.3%) and Japan (8.6%). The following exporters - the UK (X units), Italy (X units) and Turkey (X units) - together made up 8.5% of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +10.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Turkey (+14.4%), the UK (+6.6%) and Italy (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +14.4% from 2012-2022. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Brazil (-2.2%) and the United States (-10.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+29 p.p.), Turkey (+1.7 p.p.) and the UK (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Brazil (-3.5 p.p.) and the United States (-20 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest motor grader supplying countries worldwide were Brazil ($X), China ($X) and the United States ($X), together comprising 79% of global exports. Japan, Italy, Turkey and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Italy, with a CAGR of +16.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average motor grader export price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -17.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 4.6% against the previous year. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Global motor grader imports contracted to X units in 2022, which is down by -2% compared with the year before. Overall, imports recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of global imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, motor grader imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 38%. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The average motor grader import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 5.6% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 35%. Global import price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
