While the share of Italy (+8.3 p.p.), the UK (+6.2 p.p.), Burkina Faso (+3 p.p.), Egypt (+2.9 p.p.), Belgium (+2.7 p.p.), Bolivia (+1.6 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-1.8 p.p.), Japan (-2.2 p.p.) and China (-13.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported noils of wool or fine animal hair worldwide, comprising 49% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 6.5% share of global imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 5.4% share.

In Italy, noils of wool imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-12.4% per year) and Belgium (+8.2% per year).
