In value terms, non-electrical lamp exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a slight decrease. The global exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
China dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 68% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), comprising an 8.4% share of total exports. The following exporters - Germany (X units), Poland (X units), France (X units) and Denmark (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.
Exports from China decreased at an average annual rate of -3.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, France (+19.5%), Poland (+19.2%), the Netherlands (+17.1%), Denmark (+7.1%) and Germany (+6.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, France emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +19.5% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the Netherlands, Poland and Germany increased by +6.5, +2.7 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest non-electrical lamp supplier worldwide, comprising 70% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 3.8% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 3.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at -1.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+1.7% per year) and Germany (-1.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-electrical lamp export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 2.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In general, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +96.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-electrical lamp imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild reduction. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The United States represented the key importer of non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings in the world, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 34% of total imports in 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+28.9%), Poland (+23.0%), Greece (+15.2%), Russia (+10.8%), Italy (+9.4%), the Netherlands (+7.7%), Denmark (+5.7%), France (+5.0%), Germany (+4.5%) and Sweden (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +28.9% from 2012-2021. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-1.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the United States, Thailand, Poland and the Netherlands increased by +9.3, +3.6, +2.9 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings worldwide, comprising 28% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 9.2% share of global imports. It was followed by Germany, with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United States totaled -3.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (+1.2% per year) and Germany (-2.5% per year).
