Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, non-medical x-ray exports reached $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

These countries were followed by Japan, the UK, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan (Chinese), Finland and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 39%.
Among the main exporting countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +53.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average non-medical x-ray export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -4.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 14%. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, the largest non-medical x-ray importing markets worldwide were China ($X), the United States ($X) and South Korea ($X), with a combined 39% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Mexico, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Turkey, Hong Kong SAR, the Netherlands and Italy, which together accounted for a further 21%.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +15.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-medical x-ray import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Global import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
